A strange 🤨 week last week in that many managers got strong scores but still saw red arrows 👎. Newcastle’s demolition 🤺 of Sheffield United (one of the biggest wins in PL history) was a game changer 🕹️ for many and it’s no surprise to see a number of their players make the lists this week:

Trippier 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (Newcastle 🏰) ~430k transfers in, now 37% ownership – an 18 point return from a defender 🛡️will always lead to transfers in. Is this the return to first half of 22/23 Trippier, the bonus points magnet 🧲 with points potential at both ends of the pitch? Hard to tell, but he’s nailed 🔨, on set pieces 🥅, and has great fixtures. An easy transfer from Chilwell too ✅

Son 🇰🇷 (Spurs) – ~420k transfers in, now 19% ownership – topped 🔝this list 2 weeks ago and his second double digit 🪢 return sees him make another appearance. A real feast or famine player this season with only 2️⃣returning games but an average 17 points in those games 🤯. Is he a must have for the Luton match in GW8? ❓

Botman 🇳🇱 (Newcastle) ~410k transfers in, now 24% ownershio – has to be one of the highest number of transfers in for a player who’s a doubt 🤕to start at the weekend. Possibly one who’s caused a lot of early transfer headaches after a well-flagged price rise 🤑 early in the week. 21 points in 2 games is certainly solid for a 4.7m defender but will he play? 🤷‍♀️

Morris 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (Luton) 320k transfers in, now 6% ownership – the only player from what has to be one of the least exciting double gameweeks in history 🥱 to feature on the list. Luton have only scored 3 goals ⚽️ this season but Morris has scored 2 of them and assisted 1. A double 🧬gameweek against 2 relegation contenders this week (yes, Everton belong in that category), but many will remember a similar situation with Dennis a few years back… 🙄

Mitoma 🇯🇵 (Brighton) ~310k transfers in, now 43% ownership – 4 returns out of 6, including 2 in the double digits, has been enough to make Mitoma the second 🥈most owned midfielder in FPL. potentially a few tricky fixtures coming up though 😬

Chilwell 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (Chelsea) ~550k transfers out, now 22% ownership – it’s an easy formula to make the top of this list: 1. Get dropped ❌ 2. Come on as a sub in both the games you’re dropped for, blocking any bench 🪑points ❌ 3. Get a yellow card 🟨 in both of those games, for a total return of 0 points ❌ 4. Get injured 🤕 ❌. Chelsea’s defensive injuries/suspensions may yet see him get a start at the weekend if fit, but difficult to make a case to keep the 5.6m defender 👋

Gusto 🇫🇷 (Chelsea) ~350k transfers out, now 12% ownership – everyone’s favourite defender who started at 4.0 💰got a red card 🟥, -2 points, and will now be out for several games. Not necessarily a priority transfer given the price, but a fair transfer out. Means that Jonny Evans is the highest scoring, available defender who started at 4.0 🤩

Rodrigo 🇪🇸 (Man City) ~340k transfers out, now 9% ownership – crazy red card 🟥 for the midfielder last week who will now miss 2 games. Taking up a Man City slot and 5.7m of your cash, he’s an easy transfer out, particularly given he’s only returned in 1 of the last 5 games ✋🏼

Jackson 🇸🇳 (Chelsea ) ~340k transfers out, now 8% ownership – topped the list for the last 2 weeks and makes a third 🥉appearance this week. Managed to pick up his 5th yellow card 🟨 (and 5th 1 point return) in 6 games, so is now suspended. Fun fact: Chelsea have 9 forwards available to buy in FPL, the joint most of any team and the same amount as Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Newcastle combined 😱. 6 are red flagged 🤣

The 4th time this season (the most of any player). Averaging 4️⃣points a game is not enough for an 8.9m MID and after 2 blanks 😶 on the trot, more people are losing patience
