Gameweek 5, Top Transfers In/Out :

After an eventful international 🌎 break, it feels like a long time 🕰️ since we last had to look at FPL. Here’s who’s been transferred in and out over the last 2 weeks:

Top 5 transfers in:

Son 🇰🇷 (Spurs) ~550k transfers in, now ~12% ownership – Unsurprisingly a 20 💷point return leads to a lot of transfers in. The position change, with Son playing CF suggests further points potential ⬆️. But 3 blanks 😶 in 3 games prior to that demonstrate the risks. Nevertheless, Sheffield United at home 🏠 is not a bad place to try this move out ✅

Maddison 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (Spurs) ~500k transfers in, now 28% ownership – the cheaper 💵 Spurs attacking asset, and with 7+ points in 3/4 games, arguably the more consistent option 🤷‍♂️. With 2 goals, 2 assists, and 4 bonus points, there’s plenty of points potential, but is he a better option than Son, or is the double up even worthwhile? 👯

Alvarez 🇦🇷 (M City) ~500k transfers in, now 15% ownership – with 17 goals ⚽️ across all competitions for City in his debut season, no one’s doubting the potential for points here – the problem in the past has been rotation 🎠 risk. But with 4 starts and 89 minutes minimum in every PL game this season, KDB’s injury 🤕 is helping Alvarez flourish. 2 goals and 2 assists for a bargain 💰6.7m isn’t bad either ✅

Romero 🇦🇷 (Spurs) ~400k transfers in, now 14% ownership – master of consistency with 6-7 points from every game this season making him the 🔝 scoring defender 🛡️ this season, and 2 goals ⚽️ in 4 games showing his attacking potential too. Accessible price at 4.7m too ✅

Ferguson 🇮🇪 (Brighton) – 300k transfers in, now 8% ownership – 17 points from a 6.0m forward is always going to attract attention 🤩. But, starting on the bench 🪑in 50% of games this season and a potential injury 🩼risk makes him a somewhat risky move for now. One to monitor 👀

Top 5 transfers out

Jackson (Chelsea ) ~300k transfers out, now 19% ownership – many are losing patience 😤 with the Chelsea striker after 3 blanks in 4 games. Nevertheless, an upcoming fixture against Bournemouth 🏝️doesn’t seem an obvious point to jump off 🤷‍♀️

Isak (Newcastle) ~250k transfers out, now 27% ownership. Still the second 🥈most highly owned forward despite 3 blanks 😶in a row. However, Newcastle 🏰 had some very tricky fixtures to start the season, and transferring him out exactly when those fixtures turn seems an odd move to me 🤷

J Pedro (Brighton) ~250k transfers out, now 14% ownership – makes the list for a second ☝️week in the row, despite starting last game. Understandably, 3 points in 3 games had many people wielding the axe 🪓 , particularly when there’s better cheap-ish options emerging. Makes sense to move him on ✅

Botman (Newcastle) ~250k transfers out, now 14% ownership – missed the last game with an injury 🤕 and looks likely to miss the next one too. Nevertheless, a cheap 🤑option with good upcoming fixtures – so not a definite transfer out for me 🤔

Wissa (Brentford) – 230k transfers out, now 16% ownership – a somewhat surprising one here, but 2 blanks 😶 in 2 games + a tricky away fixture at Newcastle 🏯. However, good games after that and a cheap nailed 🔨starter, but is Mbeumo a better option? 🧐

What transfers are you making this week? And what do you think of the trends so far?
