Gameweek 36 Preview- Captain Picks
2 min readGameweek 36 Preview- Captain Picks
The double gameweek fixtures dominate our thoughts this week. With strong captaincy picks in the Newcastle forwards – should we also be considering Brighton with the fixtures they have?

Wilson 🏴
Isak 🇸🇪
Isak Vs Wilson is a debate that has raged all week and both are top captain picks. Howe has commented too on the pair playing together;
“Callum in the No.9 role is an outstanding player. [Playing together] is something I’ll definitely consider.’”
What we can likely expect is neither player to play 180 minutes, with Isak getting more pitch time. However it’s too easy to focus on expected minutes – and this could be a mistake given how explosive Wilson has been off the bench.
In April, Wilson scored 8 goals, starting only twice for the Magpies. In contrast, Isak played 455 minutes in the same period, hitting the net just 4 times. Wilson is my pick. Just.
Mitoma 🇯🇵
Don’t fancy choosing between the two? Pick Mitoma. Brighton also have a double, and Mitoma is an incredibly industrious player. Unlucky not to score in the last 3 games he has averaged over ten touches in the box per match. The challenge Mitoma has is two away games facing both Arsenal and Newcastle. They don’t ship goals lightly. Arsenal sit 17th for goals conceded and Newcastle have the stingiest defence in the league.
🔝 Top pick this week is Wilson. If you don’t have Wilson and have Isak he has a very close second.
