🤔 What to do with Rashford❓ KEEP or SELL ?

 

🎙️ The Club have now said he’ll “…be out for a few games but is expected to be back for the season run-in.”

 

🤔 FPL managers will be wondering what time frame that is likely to be exactly‼️

 

🩼 With adductor / groin injuries it’s likely to be at least 2 weeks IMO and possibly 3.

 

🗓️ He got the injury on 8th April so let’s assume 3 weeks which would mean a return on 29th April.  As a point of reference, 🇳🇴Haaland was out for c.18 days with a similar sounding injury. 

 

👆 The first match of Man United’s DGW34 takes place on Sunday 30th April…they face Villa (H) on 30th April and Brighton (a) on Thursday 4th May.  I’d be very surprised if he’s not back for at least the Brighton game and my best guess is that he’ll probably be back for the Villa (H) game too. 

 

 

🧠 Between now and DGW34 Man United actually have 5️⃣ other matches…but only 2️⃣ of these are league games which is helpful 👍

 

🗓️ The “few games” Rashford could miss could be: Sevilla (H) + GW31 Forest (a) + Sevilla (a) + Brighton in the FA Cup semi final + GW33 v Spurs (a).

 

🤷‍♂️ So what do you do with him❓…

 

🍟 Those planning on playing a Free Hit Chip in BGW32 can very reasonably decide just to bench 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Rashford in GW31 and then reassess in 2️⃣ weeks time if they so wish. He wouldn’t be in the FH32 team anyway given Man United blank. The Brighton 🏆FA Cup match will also give a clean indication as to whether he’s due back imminently at that point. Likewise with the GW33 fixture v Spurs (a). 

 

👆 If you’re 5th midfielder is a good player like a 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Solly March type then keeping 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Rashford is certainly an option. It’s less easy to keep him if your midfield is already a bit ropey. You may also take the view that with just 8 GWs left you want to optimise every key spot in your squad. That’s fair enough 👍.

 

🔀 If you’re not on a FH32 then selling 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Rashford is a reasonable decision and particularly if your 5th midfielder isn’t great. There are fairly obvious transfer targets 🎯in the form of 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Grealish, 🇧🇷Martinelli and 🇩🇿Mahrez for example. Do be aware though that Man City do NOT play in BGW32 either‼️

 

🦉 We have just 8️⃣ free transfers left this season now. Ideally you wouldn’t want to be using 2️⃣ of them on selling and then bringing back Rashford‼️

 

🤷‍♂️ With 2️⃣ x DGW still left for Man United this season it’s very likely that you’ll want him for that period DGW34-38.  

 

😴 But you also don’t want to be sleeping on an injured 🩼 midfield asset when there are so many great options out there.

 

🐘 Remember that 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Rashford’s as yet unconfirmed DGW37 is almost certain to be Bournemouth (a) and Chelsea (H). They’ve also still got the likes of GW35 West Ham (a), GW36 Wolves (H) and GW38 Fulham (H) left to play on top of the DGW34 and DGW37 doubles…they’re bloody good fixtures‼️
