Gameweek 21 Captaincy

Always nice to have all 3 ✅✅✅ captain picks return, albeit with 1 goal/assist apiece in a DGW, it wasn’t ideal (especially for those who played a triple 🎼 captain, which was a fair call)

This week we present to you: Haaland, Kane and our differential pick, March:

E Haaland 🇳🇴👑 (Wolves (H) (85% ownership))

H Kane 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🦯 (Fulham (A) (36% ownership))

March 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🚶(Leicester (A) (5% ownership))

No double 🔀 GW this time round means we’re keeping it simple, with the 2 highest scoring players in FPL as our top 2 captaincy choices.

Haaland’s on 4 blanks ❌and 1 game missed out of 19 this season. Kane’s on 5 blanks ❌and 0 games missed out of 20 this season. Haaland has 6 double digit ‼️returns this season, Kane has 4. In both cases that’s incredibly consistency 🤯 and a reasonable shot at an excellent return 🤔. They are the top 2 players in the ICT index (interestingly Kane is top). Both have solid fixtures ✅ (Haaland’s is better – Wolves 🐺 have conceded 8 in their last 6, while Fulham 🍣 have conceded 4 in their last 6). Both have had their returns skewed somewhat to the earlier part of the season but both have still returned every other game in their worst patches. In short – both are good captaincy choices. ✅ I’d favour Haaland.

For the punt, I did consider Trippier🛣️ , but we haven’t done a proper differential with <5% ownership in a while. Step forward Solly March 🗓️. Despite having only 4 returns by GW16 😔, March is now one of the top 10 scoring midfielders in FPL 😱. That’s come after an incredible 44 points in 4 games📙. The underlying stats over a longer period, while not ludicrous, are not bad either, with xG90 of 0.25 above the likes of KDB and Bruno and xA90 of 0.22 above the likes of Rashford & Saka (although worth noting Haaland’s xG90 is above 1…)

Really though, this would be a punty ⚠️ pick based on whether you expect March to keep up his incredible form (although a Leicester side who have conceded 8 in 4PL games is not a bad game to choose 🤨).
