🏥 FPL Daily Injury Updates Roundup (21/10/2022):

🌳 Nottingham Forest – Left wing back Harry #Toffolo is facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring problem in the Brighton game

He joins long-term absentees Omar #Richards (hairline fracture of the leg) and Moussa #Niakhate (hamstring) in being out of action.

Serge #Aurier and Orel #Mangala were “not ready” to play 90 minutes in midweek, hence their early subs.

Toffolo being ruled out is likely to mean Aurier and #Williams keep their places at full-back vs Liverpool, with Renan #Lodi having been sidelined with an ankle sprain.

🍒 Bournemouth – Gary O’Neil has reported no new injury issues ahead of Monday nights game against West Ham. Captain Lloyd #Kelly and midfielder David #Brooks are long team absentees.

Joe #Rothwell played 13 mins in midweek in his return from injury.

🕊 Brighton – Manager Roberto De Zerbi didn’t offer a concrete injury update this morning, he did however say “there is some fatigue” in the squad.

Brighton are scoreless in the last 3 matches, so he is likely to look to freshen up the attack with #Welbeck the most at risk to be rested. #Undav would be a possible replacement.

⚫️⚪️ Newcastle – #Joelinton is an injury doubt for Newcastle’s trip to Spurs on Sunday, he took a knock to the knee in the Everton game and was replaced by Joe #Willock at half-time. If Joelinton isn’t fit enough to start then expect Willock to replace him in the starting lineup. #Shelvey is another possibility, however his fitness levels are still not 100%, so expect him to be on the substitute bench again.

Defenders Paul #Dummett and Javier #Manquillo are carrying injures – the reason behind their absence from recent matchday squads.

No other new injuries for the Toon, it remains to be seen whether #Wilson will be fit enough to start three games in a week. Long term injured players #Isak, #Darlow, #Krafth, #Saint-Maximin and #Ritchie remain sidelined, Howe did mention that he hopes Saint-Maximin would be available sometime before the World Cup.

😇 Southampton – Hasenhuttl says #Walker-Peters suffered a long term hamstring injury against Bournemouth in midweek, the right back is now a doubt for the World Cup (if selected).

As well as Walker-Peters, #Bella-Kotchap remains out – “we are not sure how long”.

Romeo #Lavia is back in training but Hasenhuttl says it will “take a long time” for him to be match fit.

They might move from a back four to a back five, but with no Bella-Kotchap even that is a potential concern, Hasenhuttl has said they won’t defend deep this weekend (maybe good news for the Arsenal attackers)

Possible right back replacements are #Larios or Lewis #Payne.

#Livramento is still missing and #Maitland-Niles can’t play against his parent club.

😈 Man United – Erik ten Hag confirms that Cristiano #Ronaldo refused to come on for the Tottenham game and will miss the game against Chelsea as a result .

“This is the second time, there are consequences. We miss him tomorrow.”

Anthony #Martial will not be fit to face Chelsea, meaning #Rashford will start again up front. Ten Hag may be reluctant to change the team after the brilliant win and performance against Spurs on Wednesday, Eriksen could be the likeliest to come in if the gaffer decides to change things.

#Wan-Bissaka is still out with an unspecified knock, #Maguire and #Williams are back in training but no mention whether they will be available and no mention of #VanDeBeek.

🟥 Liverpool – #Oxlade-Chamberlain is only fit enough for the bench, #Keita is still 2 weeks away from being available.

Jurgen Klopp initially said that Liverpool had “no new injuries” heading into Saturday’s clash with Forest but later said that #Darwin Nunez would have to be assessed after his precautionary substitution in midweek.

Klopp said the recent change to 4-4-2 has given his team “More stability in different moments.”

#Robertson is likely to replace #Tsimikas in the team after being rested in midweek.

#Jota, #Matip, #Konate, #Arthur Melo and #Diaz are all still out, Konate is slightly ahead of the rest.

Liverpool should make other changes to.. “two tough games in short succession and now a next one coming up, so we need to have a closer look at who we can start again.”

🦅 Crystal Palace – Will #Hughes will be available and in the squad for tomorrow, #McArthur is likely to begin working outside from next week but no timescale was given for when he’ll be available to play.

Nathan #Ferguson is likely to get game-time with the under-21s before he comes into first-team contention.

#Butland, #Richards and #Clyne are still unavailable.

🔨 West Ham – Lucas #Paqueta’s injury “is not normal for footballers, We don’t think it is as serious as first feared, but we need to treat it accordingly.

Craig #Dawson (dead leg) and Maxwel #Cornet have a chance, may come too soon for Cornet as he’s only in light training on the grass.

Moyes also might rotate the team a bit… “I think we’ve got seven games to go between now and the World Cup. We need to think about how we use the players and who is ready for the job. You want to always play your best team but you sometimes need to change things to keep them fresher.”

#Aguerd is nearing a return, but he isn’t ready yet. Maybe 1 or 2 weeks for him.

🐺 Wolves – #Ait-Nouri has recovered from illness and will be available having missed the last game.

Long term injured players #Jimenez, #Neto, #Kalajdzic and #Chiquinho are all currently unavailable. No mention of #Toti, who was missing in the last game.

🧿 Chelsea – Are still in the process of recovery. Pretty much as they were with the  Brentford game.

Conor [#Gallagher] trained today so he will be assessed over the next 24 hours.”

#James, #Fofana and #Kante all remain out but the likes of #Silva, #Sterling and #Aubameyang (all rested in midweek are likely to come back in. #Chilwell should come back in the squad for the Man United game but he will continue to be managed after the long injury he had. Not a good FPL option tbh.

🏙 Man City – John #Stones will be in the squad having trained the last couple of days, #Phillips is doing much better, but likely he won’t be available again. #Walker is still out and Pep said ‘hopefully he’ll be back for the World Cup if selected.

🐓 Spurs – #Kulusevski and #Richarlison are both injured and will miss the Newcastle game. Kulusevski might not be available till after the World Cup

“#Emerson is back after a ban and the team have another training session tomorrow to try to make an evaluation.

“With so many games in such a short period you need to speak to and check with the players to try to recover and avoid injuries. Then we’ll make a decision.”

After playing the last two games #Perisic and #Doherty could be replaced by #Sessegnon and Emerson to freshen things up.

#Lucas is not ready to start so #Son and Kane will have to lead the line again. #Gil is a distant possibility of Conte wants to return to a 3 player attack.

🍬 Everton – #Patterson is hopefully going to be back for next week, #Mina is still injured too, no timeframe for him. #Godrey probably won’t be back until after the World Cup, but he will return to first team training soon.

When asked if #Calvert-Lewin would be able to start two games in quick succession Lampard said ‘we will see’, #Maupay on standby in case he can’t.

🦁 Aston Villa – No press conference following Gerrard’s sacking but last night he revealed that Marty #Cash was benched to protect him after his injury. He did come on at half-time just in time to give a penalty away. You’d expect him to start.

#Kamara and #Carlos will definitely be out, both left backs #Digne and  Augustinsson have not returned to training yet, so they are unlikely to be ready for this game week. Douglas #Luiz will serve a 3 game ban following his red card against Fulham.

🔫 Arsenal – Arteta says #Zinchenko is close to returning. “He’s getting better & better & he’s progressing really well. He had a bit of a setback with the injury he had at the start of the season, which is a shame. But knowing him, he’ll be back very soon.”

Arteta wouldn’t confirm whether he’d be back for Sunday or not.

#Martinelli will be fine for the match and on #Saka he said “he got a kick, he was limping a little bit, but hopefully he will be all right.”

#Smith-Rowe and #Elneny remain out.

🐝 Brentford – There are no fresh injury concerns for Brentford. Christian #Norgaard is progressing well from an Achilles injury but won’t be available against Aston Villa.

There’s a good chance Kristoffer #Ajer will return to the side after being rested for the 0-0 draw with Chelsea.

#Strakosha, #Jansson and #Hickey are are still out.

🔘 Leeds – #Cooper should return after being rested in midweek, #Struijk will ‘hopefully’ also be back, #Gray and #Hjelde are both doubts, #Forshaw and #Dallas are injured.

🦊 Leicester – #Maddison returns from suspension, #Evans is a doubt with a calf injury. #Bertrand and #Ricardo are definitely out, #Ndidi is a major doubt and #Soyuncu has a knee injury and will be assessed.
