FPL 2022/23 : Team To Avoid : BOU ; NFO ; FUL; CRY
Promoted teams from the Championship have often presented fantasy football managers with the opportunity to jump on their best players relatively priced at a fair point or their extremely budget-friendly assets who could play the role of enablers in order to afford more premium players. However, if you are looking for a little more or even just that, the initial set of fixtures for all three promoted clubs have reduced the potential of their players by a fine margin.
Starting with Aleksandar Mitrovic’s Fulham side after their title triumph, they will kick-off their Premier League adventure with the reception of Liverpool before going on to face five of last season’s top ten in the following six outings, which is far from being appealing.
Bournemouth’s position is not much better, as they will come up against Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool respectively after their opening day tie versus Aston Villa. Considering the potentiel timings for playing the wildcard this season, it is hard to make a case for investing in Bournemouth players from the start.
As for Nottingham Forrest, they will also be facing both of Manchester City and Tottenham in their opening five gameweeks, on top of tricky games against the ever-improving Newcastle and West Ham sides as well as an away trip to Everton.
It is just better to invest elsewhere before starting to consider the promoted clubs, considering their schedule, with perhaps Fulham’s Andreas Pereira (MID, £4.5M) and Nottingham’s Neco Williams (DEF, £4.0M) representing the only exceptions solely due to their price points.Other than promoted clubs, Crystal Palace is also another team that should struggle with tough opening ties, as they will find themselves up against Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City in the first four gameweeks already, although it could be a good sign later on when their schedule becomes kinder.
